[Druid]NEW FORMS OMG OMG OMG

From the official site:

"There will be five different designs for each of these forms for the Horde and Alliance. Night elves can choose to change their cat and bear look at any time by visiting the barber shop and changing their character's hair color, while tauren will be able to change which look they use by switching skin tones in the barber shop -- a new feature for tauren in the next major content patch. Given that there are more hair colors and skin tones than unique form looks, some colors and tones will overlap with these new textures. The hair and skin colors chosen will, in most cases, correspond with the color seen in the look of each form. Some similar colors that may share a particular cat texture will not necessarily share the same bear texture. "

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

Okay, analysis time. I'm not happy that this isn't tied to gear directly. I'd really like to have the skin modify with gear on some level. I'd also like it not to be tied to the skin tone of the tauren; what if I like one bear but hate the cat?

But it's SO much better, I don't really mind. The black one looks damn good.

Can't wait to see what they did with the Tauren cat.

WTB form with a closed mouth.

@felkan when we are sitted our mouth will be close.

And Kalon think of it this way, if it would be gear dependent, every full t8 geared druid will look the same, this puts a little variety in the form. I really like it

The bears in the pic are roaring, if we sit down, your mouth will close, see http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=17367879395&sid=1&pageNo=3#50

maybe on this blog my comment will survive more than 30 seconds before someone will delete it because I'm not worshipping Blizzard :)

what I see is that from next content patch we will stuck with 5 boring forms instead of 1 until next expansion pack.

Sure.. five is better than one, but how many druids will roll for black bear or white bear?

I will repeat it one more time.
as long druid models are not scalable, they suck.

look at the model, they have braces, necklaces.. fine!
so lets make a deal and give bear a bracelet if his avg. iLevel is higher than 200, add necklace if he will reach iLvl 226.

Frankly, I've never been too upset about the whole subject. Unless I zoom in significantly, just about everyone looks the same. You can identify their race (body builds are so different), but that's about it. A blob of pixels running around. It is even worst if you turn off name tags (I do). Soon everyone just blends into the background.

I'm sort of surprised Blizzard doesn't give us a means to really tune down player textures/models as we all almost look the same now. Doing so would certainly reduce the load times when you enter Dalaran. I'd be happy with red/blue arrows. If it weren't for enchant effects, I think we'd all look the same

You would think they would make the forms scale and you would think other classes would want this too, just for PvP.

At the moment if I see a few players I try to target the healers and try to control the best geared players. It's impossible to tell how well geared a druid is by looking at them.

BTW-

It was clarified that "sitting around normally" means the bear idle animations will have a closed mouth, not just when actually sitting. :)

No one has said anything about it only closing while sitting. :) I think there have been some incorrect inferences. Netheara:

Just to clarify, when I said, "sitting around" that was in reference to idling, hanging out and being bearlike.

Felkan et al - it does appear that druids will close their mouths when resting. We'll see, of course, but that would be great.

Kane - I don't see why you'd think you'd get deleted; in the history of this blog I've only removed gold farming links and 'pls delete' posts. I do agree that this isn't all that I want, and having scalable art is the best possible outcome. At the same time, saying that this isn't a step in the right direction is kinda silly. The models look stellar, and if the animations match it'll be a big win.

Felkan, it's weird. For some people they could go with a featureless grey blob and be totally fine as long as it had 10% more armor. For others, they have a lot of identity and ego wrapped up in how their character looks.

And yet for others, they just want to see something attractive when they're staring at it for hours.

I tend to be more pragmatic, but I admit that I am really tired of looking so bleh.

Yeah, the only time I ever "see" my toon (or any other toon for that mater) is the login screen. Once I'm "in-game" I never notice anything other than an odd mount, a stupidly large shield on someone's back or maybe a weird cloak pattern (like the ones with a skull on them from Naxx). Otherwise all toons are just little gnats that are between my keyboard and my destination.

Why not just give us the ability to sit in the barber's chair as a bear or a cat and select the skin we want? Wouldn't that be more simple than guessing which skin or hair combo would give us the cat or bear look we wish?

Also on my list of things that Blizz should really give Druids: please figure out a way to let us retain our forms while riding in the chopper side-cars. Or piloting a chopper for that matter-for 14k, I would like to be a bear on a bike.
